Spirit Of Pilates Explains Benefits Of Latest Class
High Corn Mill based Spirit of Pilates is shouting out about the health benefits of post-natal pilates for new mothers and baby massage for babies with its latest class, Post Natal Pilates and Baby Massage.
Parents are being encouraged to bring their babies from as young as six weeks old up to crawling stage to take part in the weekly class. The session consists of half an hour post-natal pilates and half an hour baby massage every Monday from 10:35 – 11:35. A course runs for six weeks and also incorporates an introduction to baby yoga.
Said Julia Ebel, Spirit of Pilates instructor for post-natal and baby massage: “There are so many benefits that baby massage and post-natal pilates offer for both mother and child.
“Post-natal pilates helps to strengthen and lengthen muscles affected during pregnancy thus contributing to post-natal recovery, relaxation and is an opportunity for the mum to focus on her own body.
“Baby massage aids in relaxing and calming the baby, promoting better sleeping patterns, helping to boost the immune system and eases the symptoms of colic and constipation.”
Julia is a certified modern pilates instructor in matwork (stage 1) and pre and post-natal pilates. She is a qualified IAIM infant massage instructor, touch learn baby yoga teacher and childlight children’s yoga teacher.
Situated in the heart of Skipton and just a stone’s throw away from the High Street, High Corn Mill has been an integral part of Skipton’s life for over 700 years with records dating back to 1310 and once formed part of the castle’s property. The mill’s offering for the 21st century is somewhat different to 700 years ago – educational fun and a selection of independent shops plus hair and beauty establishments.
