Westfield Health appoint main contractor for new Sheffield city centre HQ

Health insurer Westfield Health has appointed the main contractor for its new HQ at a prominent Sheffield city centre building.

J F Finnegan Ltd, based on Ecclesall Road in Sheffield, will be the principal design and build contractor working on the development of Milton House on Charter Row.

The Milton House development, which received planning approval from Sheffield City Council in May, includes reconfiguring the main entrance, developing a new reception area for the main building, and creating a reception for Westfield Health on the fifth floor and a new customer service call in facility for policyholders.

Westfield Health will be relocating from its current offices on Division Street, where it has been operating from since 1973.

Julie Gill, executive director – operations at Westfield Health, said: “We are delighted to appoint J F Finnegan Ltd as the main contractor on our development of Milton House. Throughout this project, our commitment to Sheffield, where we have been based for almost 100 years, has been clear and the appointment of another leading city business to work with us reaffirms that pledge.

“This is an important time in our history, both for our team and our customers. We’re really looking forward to working with J F Finnegan Ltd, who are the perfect fit for this project, and to see our exciting plans for Milton House become a reality.”

J F Finnegan Ltd, which has been established for 70 years, operates nationwide with a portfolio that features industrial, commercial building work as well as residential work, all at the cutting edge of the UK construction market.

Dawa Singh, head of pre-construction at J F Finnegan Ltd, added: “We are proud to be working with Westfield Health on this exciting project. Both companies have significant history in Sheffield and this partnership demonstrates a landmark opportunity for both Westfield Health and J F Finnegan Ltd to be aligned and create future history for the city where we are based.

“This contract represents local prosperity for the local people and we are thrilled to be playing our part to breathe new life into this prominent city building. It is a great story for Sheffield.”

Work is expected to begin in September and be completed in the summer of 2016 with more than 200 Westfield Health employees moving to Milton House shortly after.
