Families head to the coast after winning big!

The Alhambra Shopping Centre brought summer fun to shoppers recently after playing host to a giant sandpit fully equipped with buckets and spades for everyone to enjoy as well as a bumper competition to enter!

The shopping centre in the town centre has given five lucky families a trip to the good old British seaside courtesy of Barnsley independent travel agents Grays Travel.

The five families from across Barnsley will be visiting Llandudno, Blackpool, Southport, Scarborough or Whitby and taking their seaside inspired hampers which include a bucket and spade, sun cream, beach towels and much, much more.

Michelle Needham, from Blacker Hill, Barnsley expresses her delight at winning one of the trips: “I didn’t even know I had entered the competition. My daughter and my grandma were shopping at the Alhambra and entered in my name, so getting the call to say I had won was a lovely surprise!”

Michelle will be taking her two children aged 11 and 13 and her partner Tracy to Blackpool in the coming weeks.

Steph Higham, Alhambra Centre marketing manager said: “Bringing the beach to Barnsley was a cracking success, we had children playing in the sand for free whilst parents and guardians relaxed in our range of eateries as well as entering our competition!”
