Slater named Manchester High Street Retailer of the Year

Manchester’s Business Improvement District this year launched the ‘Heart of Manchester Retail Awards’, created with the intention of celebrating the city’s thriving retail industry and the dedicated workforce behind it.

In what was the first opportunity for the public to vote across a variety of categories, Slaters Menswear were voted High Street Retailer of the Year. The team, who were “…absolutely chuffed to bits”, took to the stage at The Place Hotel in suits fitting of the retailer’s smart offering.

Slaters, the mens suits retailer based in Glasgow, have a 23 store nationwide estate and pride themselves on the service provided to customers in store, where free alterations are offered as standard. The family-run company celebrated its 40th anniversary last year and continues to maintain a focus on high quality of craftsmanship and service.

Meanwhile, their ecommerce platform (www.slaters.co.uk) continues to innovate to improve customer experience in order that customers enjoy their online experience as much as they would in store. This mantra is supported by a free click and collect service and the ability to take advantage of free alterations even when bought online.

The roll out of this service has helped drive significant traffic from the site to the Manchester store on Brown Street. The products on offer cover all of the necessary wardrobe additions needed for proms, weddings and evening dinners, from head to toe.

With products spanning brands including Fellini, Calvin Klein Ted Baker to top quality shoe brands like Loake and Jimmy Bee, the Slaters offering is designed to satisfy the needs of the modern man for any event. Slaters also stock an own-label, ONESIX5IVE, which specialises in offering slim fitting smart wear for forward thinking men at affordable prices.

On the success of the business and in particular the number of businesses across Manchester they supply Slaters have also launched a dedicated corporate clothing business.
