York’s leisure scene receives boost with the opening of The Yorkshire bar and grill
Food lovers in York are now being offered somewhere new to sink their teeth into.
The city’s hospitality sector has welcomed The Yorkshire bar and grill, which will offer customers a place to eat, drink and meet from breakfast time until late into the evening.
Located on St Maurice’s Road, the new venue will also provide customers with free wifi all day and the new, designer menu created by a team of talented chefs.
Graham Usher, The Yorkshire bar and grill general manager, said: “With the opening of The Yorkshire bar and grill, York’s dining scene has just got even more exciting.
“Our new dining concept adds a brand new city centre experience, and one that we are confident will more than meet with the approval of a wide variety of people – from those who love dining out, to those just having a drink with friends and colleagues in chic surroundings.
“Our kitchen brigade is led by Ben Allnutt, who is one of York’s most exciting young chefs, and the dishes he and his team have created can be summed up in one word, inspirational.”
Dishes on the dinner menu include Pressed Yorkshire Rabbit, Gin Cured Salmon, Yorkshire Waygu Steak Hache, Tomahawk Pork Chop, Pan Fried East Coast Cod Fillet, Dark Chocolate and Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil Delice, Hedgerow Fruit Cheescake and Smoked Ribblesdale Goats Cheese.
The venu’s Yorkshire Tapas menu features a selection of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes, including Baked Duck Eggs, Crab on Toast, Yorkshire Steak Strips and Homemade Chunky Pork Scratching.
The Brunch and Home Comforts consists of classics such as Eggs Benedict, Venison Burger and East Coast Fish and Chips.
Graham added: “Nothing has been left to chance when it came to creating our unique look and feel, which includes the decor, fixtures, lighting and music. Even our staff uniforms have a real Yorkshire look and feel to them.
“What we will be offering day in day out is great surroundings, great food, great service and a great experience.”
The Yorkshire bar and grill is situated at the Monkbar Hotel, which is in the final stages of a major £3m upgrade and expansion programme, which has seen the extension boasting a new state-of-art function suites and 27 additional bedrooms.
