Chichester car showroom to relocate following demolition bid
A car showroom franchise in Chichester may be demolished after a sheltered accommodation company submitted an application to build 35 flats.
WKB Toyota is planning to move to a new site in the city as group sales director, Mike Fenlon, said in the Chichester Observer: “We’ve all but outgrown this particular site,”
Mike said there were two possible sites in the Chichester city area for the firm’s new home, which would ideally be completed by April 2017.
He continued: “It’s our complete intention to go forward on one of the two possible sites, which will be slightly bigger but we’re keeping the Toyota franchise within the Chichester city area,”
“Ideally we’re going to be operating on the current site until the new site is completed and then we will just transfer all staff and everything along.”
Last week, Chichester City Council raised no objection to the bid submitted by Churchill Retirement Living in The Hornet.
The company told the council: “The proposal optimises development opportunities for this site with a building of appropriate footprint, height, scale and mass in line with the local character of the area.”
