Lodders aims for personal best at Stratford 10k

Stratford upon Avon law firm Lodders is aiming to set new personal best records at the town’s annual Big 10k, as it looks to field its biggest team of runners and raise vital funds for the event’s charity partner.

The firm is sponsoring the Stratford upon Avon Big 10k race for the sixth consecutive year.

The 2015 event takes place on Sunday 13th September and Lodders so-far has 15 members of staff signed-up to take part, and will also have a large number of its team taking part as helpers along the course.

Charity partner of the Stratford Big 10k this year is Shipston Home Nursing. Founded in 1997, the home is run by a team of qualified nurses specialising in palliative care who look after terminally ill people in their homes across rural South Warwickshire.

“Our runners are looking to raise as much money for charity as possible as the firm marks its sixth year of backing Stratford’s Big 10k race,” explains Lodders’ partner Steven Baker, who will lead Lodders’ team again this year.

“The Big 10k is extremely popular and we are pleased that we are continuing our sponsorship. Shipston Home Nursing does valued work within the community and we are determined to raise as much for them as possible.”

Around 1,000 runners are expected to sign up for the event, with entries open for both team and individual places. Prizes will be awarded to the first three runners, both male and female, and also age group prizes plus corporate team and club team prizes. The course will follow the same route as 2014, starting at Stratford Recreation Ground at 9.30am.

Lodders’ team of helpers will hand-out bottles of water, T-shirts, bananas and the like to finishers.
