10 years and 2000 clients for design agency

A North Northumberland Company is this year marking their ten year anniversary in a purposely converted, bespoke work space nestled at the foot of the Simonside Hills in Rothbury.

Lazy Grace, a marketing and communication agency, are this year celebrating 10 years since moving into their office developed from a suite of redundant farm buildings on the site which was officially opened by the Duchess of Northumberland.

Lazy Grace started out life in 1998 when Managing Director John Tait started designing and building web sites for mainly local holiday cottage and B&B businesses. Soon realising that business was starting to boom, he employed the longest standing member of staff, James Hole, who is the company’s New Media Director.

“It’s amazing to think that Lazy Grace has been around all of these years located in the hills of Northumberland. I remember a lot of people said that we’d never do it, that we’d need to move to the town to build the business. But it just goes to show you can build a successful company with the right brand, strategy and team” said James.

The business has continued to grow and expand it’s range of services from simply designing and building websites into a true full service media agency who’s services now include brand design and development, print and exhibition design, photography, video production, marketing & analytics and business communication & development.

“Today people are realizing that it’s just not enough to have a website – you need to have one that works for you as part of your overall brand and business strategy. That’s where Lazy Grace are different, anyone can make you a website, but we have the experience and track record to help you make it profitable”. Added James.

The client list is as impressive as it is diverse, from multi-national corporations such as Glaxosmithkline to more regional businesses such as The Alnwick Garden, Doddington Dairy, Kelso Races, George F White and Fentimans drinks to name but a handful.

“Although we work with a lot of larger businesses from out of the area, we get a special thrill from helping our great regional businesses reach their target markets and grow” explains the Lazy Grace managing director, John Tait.

2015 not only marks the 10 year anniversary of the move into the Granary, but it also marks the company’s 2000th client . High House Farm Brewery based in Matfen. The brewery originally worked with Lazy Grace in 2003 when it was then a small start-up as part of a farm diversification business. Since then it has expanded to not only produce some of the regions best loved beers, but also developed a thriving wedding and events business.

So now, some 12 years on and under new ownership, High House Farm Brewery are moving with the times and have launched their brand new corporate website which has been built to give them greater editorial control and look fantastic on any device, from mobile phones to tablets and computers.

Heather Scott, who together with her husband Gary run the brewery said “ We did like the old website that Lazy Grace had produced; however it was time for a fresh new look and all we can say is WOW! What an amazing job they have done. They really helped us focus on the unique aspects of the current business and where it has come from, and helped us tell our story in a clear and unique way. We cannot thank them enough for all their help, advice and patience during the process!“

“High House Farm Brewery is a great example of what a regional business can be. It produces a great product that people want and has adapted to market needs whilst staying true to its brand” Said John. “With businesses like this starting and growing in rural Northumberland, we are really looking forward to the next ten years!”
