Hospital security business chooses Stockport for UK base

Commercial lettings in Stockport Town Centre have been steadily rising over the past 12 months, proving the town is on track to become the leading business destination of choice in Greater Manchester. The positive news has been reinforced by the arrival of US-based hospital security software firm IntelliCentrics to Regent House, Stockport.

Healthcare organisations in the US have been using IntelliCentrics’ software for over eight years, but in the UK healthcare providers are also starting to see the benefits of the security software to improve patient, staff and visitor safety and help protect procurement budgets.

IntelliCentrics’ Reptrax service gives hospitals the ability to control access to restricted or patient sensitive areas by only allowing those who comply with the hospital’s policies to enter.

The healthcare security system specialists have moved from Manchester Airport and set up their UK headquarters on the 10th floor of Regent House, Orbit Development’s flagship commercial property in Stockport Town Centre.

Healthcare providers in the UK saw the benefits of the Reptrax system and have expanded the company’s client portfolio, meaning IntelliCentrics needed to ensure they had enough room to grow in their new space for future expansion.

Within a month of the lettings deal, IntelliCentrics moved into their bespoke office space created by Orbit’s team on the 10th floor of Regent House, large enough to fit 22 employees along with additional meeting rooms and partitioning between different teams, fulfilling the firm’s brief.

IntelliCentrics is also taking advantage of high speed Metronet broadband, which is available in all Stockport Town Centre Orbit buildings.

Azadar Shah, Managing Director at IntelliCentrics UK, said: “We are serving clients worldwide and our strategy is to continue growing our presence in the UK, which meant that we needed offices which served our requirements as the market leader in healthcare security software systems.

Orbit has been excellent in meeting our needs and ensuring we have space to grow our business.“

Currently employing 22 staff at its Regent House base, IntelliCentrics is looking to expand its team of software developers to meet the growing demand for its service.

Orbit Developments Managing Director, Tony Jones, said: “Attracting global organisations such as IntelliCentrics demonstrates that Stockport Town Centre is becoming a desirable destination for businesses looking for great transport links, a proactive business community, a culture of innovation, and a vibrant social scene for staff.

“The Stockport business community is working with partners in local and national government to change the face of the town, and those changes are becoming visible in the major building projects around the town centre, the improved transport system, and the wide variety of events happening across the Borough.”
