Northumberland Primary schools to benefit from Basketball Partnership
The sponsorship programme has been created to support children and provide keep fit, team building skills and coordination development skills, directly from the Eagles Community Foundation Development Officer Anthony Sampson (all 7ft of him). Deirdre L. Tozer-Hayes, General Manager of the Eagles Community Foundation said, “Eagles Community Foundation are really excited about working closely with The Education Network supporting local school children.
Our innovative partnership will support hundreds of children in Northumberland – delivering fun and practical basketball skills together with team work. We are passionate about delivering sport in schools and The Education Network and Eagles Community Foundation are a winning team which will make a real difference to the lives of hundreds of local pupils.“
That sentiment is echoed by Wayne Daley, Partnership Manager at The Education Network who has been working on the project saying, “I am delighted that we have teamed up with one the UK’s leading basketball team community providers to deliver a fantastic scheme to support primary school children to develop a love of sport”.
The Eagles Community Foundation Development Officer, Anthony Sampson is also fully embracing the programme and will also be spending time with The Education Network, learning about the quality measures and processes they follow in placing teaching supply staff into schools. Wayne explained, “By understanding more about the Teachers and what we do, Anthony will get an insight into the ideas generation and lesson planning sessions that Teachers create to support childrens learning.”
As part of the sponsorship, The Education Network will also be sponsoring sporting equipment and kit worn by Newcastle Eagles Coach Anthony Sampson.
