Regeneration firm Urban Splash secures largest South Liverpool letting
Property regeneration company Urban Splash has landed a string of deals to revamp over 13,000 sq ft of commercial space across the Liverpool area, including a contract for the biggest letting in the south of the city this year.
The largest deal saw Assist, the recruitment company, sign up for 8,300 sq ft at the Matchworks building in Speke, South Liverpool.
Assist’s director, Dave Dargan, said: “I am delighted that we have completed our relocation and are joining the Matchworks community. The development is fantastically located and I look forward to meeting with the vast commercial population there.”
Elsewhere, makeup distributor Kurious also signed up for 2,735 sq ft of space at the Matchworks development.
Both contracts combined account for over half of all the deals completed in South Liverpool so far in 2015. The commercial manager of Urban Splash, Nicky Harries, commented: “These deals are hugely significant in the local market accounting for 50% of the entire office take up for the area this year.
“I am so proud that we have been able to secure such fantastic tenants – not to mention a letting in excess of 8,000 sq ft which is one of the largest single deals in the Liverpool market this year.”
She added: “It’s testament to the Matchworks’ longstanding reputation as a fantastic base for businesses looking for a cost-effective alternative to the city centre.”
Meanwhile, the company completed another three deals in the Ropewalks area of the city centre. City Hearts, a charity, quadrupled its premises at the Vanilla Factory to 1,289 sq ft, while DH Business Support signed up for 380 sq ft at Slater Studios, where Lunar Commercial also took 204 sq ft.
Nicky continued: “We continue to attract a fantastic range of businesses to our schemes in Liverpool thanks to our fantastic range of space and our flexible approach as a landlord whereby we offer long and short-form leases and monthly licenses which help our tenants as they grow.”
