The ZipYard Liverpool Zips into Action

~~As children return to school this week, The ZipYard Liverpool has reported positive signs that the local economy is picking up after seeing more brand new school uniforms in for alterations than second hand for the first time in years.

In recent years, The ZipYard located on Allerton Road, has been kept busy in the build up to the start of the academic year with floods of second hand school garments but Iain McGuigan, owner of The ZipYard, believes things have changed.

Said Iain: “People appear to have more money in their pockets these days, plus we’ve seen supermarkets and high street shops developing affordable uniform ranges. Our seamstresses have been rushed off their feet making alterations to new uniforms, we’ve barely even seen any hand-me downs this year.

“Most people don’t have the time or skills to alter their own clothes let alone their children’s but they can bring any garment in to us and we’ll make them fit perfectly. Our onsite professional seamstresses really can do anything.”

The ZipYard offers a wide range of alteration and tailoring services, all done on site by trained professionals in a clean, purpose-built environment. The centre has individual private changing rooms and a dedicated bridal suite where the ZipYard’s trained seamstresses can pin up alterations in situ. From dress re-styling and taking in or letting out garments to bridal-wear fitting or formal wear alterations, The ZipYard can do it all. There is a 1-hour express service for zips, hems and minor repairs so shoppers can buy a garment in the morning and have the alterations done in time to wear the outfit that evening.

The ZipYard Liverpool is open from Monday to Friday 8:30am to 6:00pm and Saturday 9:00am to 5:00pm.
