Aspire rank in prestigious national league table

A LEADING regional IT company has maintained its place in one of the country’s leading barometers of business success.

For the second year running, Gateshead-based Aspire Technology Solutions is in The Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100.

The annual league table, in its 15th year, ranks Britain’s leading 100 private technology companies by looking at the fastest growing sales performances over the last three years.

Nigel Begg, Aspire Managing Director, said: “We were thrilled to enter the league for the first time last year and are delighted to maintain our place in such a prestigious measure of success for 2015.

“Being part of The Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100 is a true reflection of how fast we’ve grown. We’ve achieved record financial results each year since we established the company in 2006 and predict growth of at least 25 per cent for this year.

“Our success is down to our focus on our clients, and delivering them tangible, bottom-line improvements and results. We’re known for our outstanding technical delivery and first-class service and support, but we’re also determined to deliver significant cost savings to our customers.

“We know this approach of delivering business advantage works– our client retention rate is more than 98%.

“It’s a very competitive sector and we are competing against other successful IT companies nationally, so it’s great for us, but also great for the region that we’re featured in such a well-regarded table.”

Aspire, based at the landmark Heworth Hall, has clients throughout the UK and Europe including the Labour Party, Barbour and SAFC. The company’s core services are managed services infrastructure; voice solutions and connectivity.

The league table is sponsored by Hiscox, Barclays, BDO and the Business Growth Fund (BGF) and compiled by Fast Track, the Oxford-based research and networking events firm. Typical Tech Track 100 companies are owned and run by entrepreneurs; have between 20 and 200 staff; have an average three-year sales growth of between 40 per cent to 300 per cent and have sales ranging from £5m to £50m. Past Tech Track 100 league table stars include Shazam, Cheapflights, Skyscanner and Ocado.

Steve Langan, Chief Executive of Hiscox Insurance Group, said: “All companies could benefit from thinking and acting like tech businesses, and there is no better starting point for inspiration than our Tech Track 100. The companies come in different shapes and sizes but at their core they share common attributes.

“For instance the entrepreneurs behind them experiment constantly, swiftly transforming their ideas into marketable services and products.”
