450 Kilometres. 90 cyclists. One Colt.
Colt Technology Services are venturing on an international fundraising activity for the fourth year running in a bid to increase awareness and revenue for partner charities across Europe.
The Colt bike ride changes the lives of vulnerable children and specifically here in the UK, those supported by Coram. Colt’s UK charity partner, Coram is the nation’s oldest children’s charity, working with the vulnerable from birth to independence; they help children get the best start in life.
The Colt bike ride is the single largest Colt group CSR effort - with colleagues from almost every Colt country taking part. Starting in Frankfurt, the riders will have signed up for one of two routes. With 453km to complete in four days - the “road route” is no mean feat, but for those who are after more; our committee has thrown in some mountain peaks bringing the “daredevil route” to 529km – in the same time period, of course! With 450km to complete, 90 riders, 20 support crew and well wishes from every Colt employee out there, this bike ride is like no other.
Working on a project like this helps Colt to drive team spirit outside of the ‘normal work requirements’ of employees and helps to create a culture at Colt we are proud of. Having ridden for the last two years, Rob Field, Learning & Development Manager at Colt now forms part of the committee: “one of the main reasons to get involved is because this is a great event that does so much good. These things don’t happen by themselves so I thought I should get involved.”
Last year alone the bike ride raised over €100,000 for its in-region charity partners.
