Happy Jays boosts funds for local charities by over £750
Happy Jays nurseries in Harrogate and Boroughbridge have raised over £750 for Martin House Children’s Hospice and Yorkshire Cancer Centre. The fundraising boost took place at two colourful graduation parties for a total of 40 children who are starting at local schools.
A BBQ accompanied by face painting and tombola marked the occasion at Setting Sail nursery in Killinghall when the children were presented with a book, a group photograph and a graduation scroll. A BBQ and a disco also went down a treat with leavers and their parents at Happy Jays nursery at Boroughbridge.
Nicola Njie, manager of Happy Jays nursery in Harrogate, said: “Our event was extremely well received and it was great to see how the children - some of whom have been with us since they were babies - have developed into confident and social pre-schoolers.
“Everyone had a lot of fun and the event coincided with Harrogate being named the happiest place to live in England for the 3rd consecutive year which is very appropriate as our children are always happy.”
Tony Gernon, MD of Happy Jays commented: “Giving something back to local charities is a deep rooted part of our ethos across our group of nurseries and we are proud of the collective achievements of all of our school leavers and wish them continued success.”
Happy Jays provides Ofsted registered nursery and childcare in Boroughbridge, Scarborough, Harrogate, York and Batley.
