Building on a decade of success
A new North East based construction business has been launched with ambitions to be delivering around £100 million worth of projects nationwide, within two years.
All Saints Construction is a division of the High Street Group – a multi disciplinary operation established almost 10 years ago and involved in property investment, development finance and financial claims.
Five senior managers, with more than a century’s experience in the construction sector, have been appointed to head up the operation, which is headquartered at the All Saints Business Centre in Cuthbert House, Newcastle.
The company will immediately take on the delivery of three residential schemes which were formerly contracted out by sister company – All Saints Living. These are a prestigious, part completed refurbishment project at Larbert in Scotland and new ventures in Hexham and Durham City, together valued at around £27 million.
However, as well as residential work, All Saints Construction plans to bid for a wide range of projects – of between £100,000 and £10 million in value - in the commercial, educational and health sectors.
“We have a strong team with wide experience and ambition to grow in an expanding sector,” says Construction Manager, Peter Galbraith, who with 26 years involvement in the industry – from brick layer to contracts manager – heads up the venture.
“We are confident that within two years we will be employing around 50 people and engaging hundreds of sub contractors to deliver challenging construction projects throughout the UK. Because of our parent company’s experience and expertise, we can offer clients a start to finish service – providing scheme feasibility advice, design, planning guidance, finance, construction and sales or maintenance.
“In addition our costs are significantly less than offered through the more traditional construction procurement processes and we believe this puts us in an extremely strong position to establish successful joint venture initiatives right across the sector.”
Supporting Peter are Pre-Construction Manager, Keith McDougall; Commercial Manager, Mark Kidd; Business Development Manager, Chris Nunn and Site Manager Ray Appleby.
Projects these people have previously delivered include Northumbria University’s Ellison Building, Sunderland Royal Hospital, Felling Health Centre, 250 new homes in Consett and the refurbishment of listed buildings in Chester-le-Street to create a business village.
The High Street Group was established by successful entrepreneur Gary Forrest in 2004 and has grown to become a leading financial and property group. It employs just over 50 people and activities include financial claims, property development and developer finance.
