West Yorkshire accountancy firms complete merger
An established Keighley accountancy firm is fortifying its commitment to the town by merging with another accountants based in Horsforth.
Sunderland Driver is merging with Burrow & Crowe, which will be renamed BC Sunderland Driver.
Robert Greenwood, principal at Sunderland Driver, is placing the business in the hands of Jon Crossley, partner with Burrow & Crow, as he takes on a consultancy role.
Founded in Keighley in 1950, Sunderland Driver was taken over by Robert taking in 1993 and this new transition promises to be equally smooth.
Jon, who will continue to fulfil his responsibilities with Burrow & Crowe, was educated at Oakbank School and has a solid list of business and personal links with the area.
Robert said: “I have seen many changes since I started as an accountant – from computerisation, to self assessment, auto-enrolment and cloud accounting – and I feel it is time to hand over the baton.
“The change will be smooth and problem free for our many loyal clients who will continue to get the best, relevant up to date advice.
“I am delighted to announce the joint venture with Burrow & Crowe Accountants, creating the new BC Sunderland Driver Accountants & Business Advisers. Although the name has changed, everything else will be pretty much the same.”
Sunderland Driver was based in Devonshire Street, Keighley, until it moved offices in 2001 to the Aire Valley Business Centre, where it remains the longest established company in the building.
Robert will be also be joined by David Pollitt, Jon’s business partner, and Joel Sendrowski, a manager from Burrow & Crowe.
Robert added: “I will be staying on as a consultant for the next few years, ensuring we continue to give our clients the great service they expect and deserve.”
