Medical company gets on its bike for charity
A team of medical company executives has turned to pedal power to raise more than £700 for Macmillan Cancer Support in a charity bike ride.
The team of charity cyclists - from Chessington-based DP Medical Systems Ltd – joined 4,000 other participants in the DoItForCharity bike ride from London to Brighton.
Doug Pitman, Rob Atkinson, Claude Walawage and Owen Pemberton from DP Medical – who made the 50-mile journey from Clapham South to Brighton seafront – have so far raised £775.
DP Medical Systems Ltd is a distributor of quality products to the medical and dental professions.
Owen Pemberton, Commercial Director at DP Medical Systems Ltd, said: “Macmillan Cancer Support is a fantastic charity which many of the staff have experienced first hand through their care and support for our family and friends, so we’re delighted to have raised this money for them.
“The ride covered a number of testing roads and climbs through South London, Surrey and Sussex, but the generous donations we received certainly provided extra motivation in finishing what was a tough course.
“Despite the challenging nature of the ride – and our relief at seeing the Brighton seafront finish line - we are already planning our next fundraiser for Macmillan.”
