ITV Wales’ business correspondent shares her insight into the media world

Senior businesswomen from across North Wales were brought together by the CBI to discuss diversity in business.

The business leaders also heard from ITV Wales’ business correspondent Carole Green about the progression of female roles and leadership at the media organisation at the lunch.

With the topic ‘Women in Media’, Carole shared her insight on the growing influence of women in media and how diversity within the sector can be improved.

The attendees took part in a roundtable discussion about whether diversity is an issue for North Wales businesses, and if so how it was being tackled.

The lunch, which was held at Northop Hall Country House Hotel, was part of an event programme by the CBI at UK level to promote diversity in business.

Chair of CBI North Wales Tracy North said: “It was really interesting to find out whether diversity is an issue any longer for businesses in North Wales.”

Emma Watkins, director of CBI Wales, said: “The CBI is committed to improving gender diversity across our activities, and to ensuring we engage with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds to make sure we are truly representative.

“It was fantastic to bring together so many senior business women from across the region to share their experiences and ideas for how to drive this agenda forward.”

Attendees at the event, which was sponsored by Aaron & Partners, included representatives from BT Wales, the House Nameplate Company, Ruabon, St David’s Park Hotel, Ewloe, Wrexham-based gap personnel, and Bala-based Cake Crew.
