Continue giving with confidence
Northumberland Wildlife Trust has become a member of the Fund Raising Standards Board (FRSB), the self-regulator of charity funding in the UK.
The FRSB exists to ensure charities are accountable for how they fundraise, with charities signed up to the FRSB committing to following a series of exacting standards.
Despite fundraising since its formation in 1971, the wildlife charity feels FRSB membership is increasingly important given the activities of ‘chuggers’ and the increase in the number of people falling victim to street operators and poor marketing practices.
Sheila Sharp, Northumberland Wildlife Trust Head of Marketing and Fundraising said: “We understand that every time a member of the public gives to our organisation, they want to feel that they can trust us. By being a member of the FRSB, we want our supporters to feel they can give with confidence. It’s a sign of the times I’m afraid, but something we take seriously.” The Trust has introduced a Supporter Care Charter on its website www.nwt.org.uk to re-inforce its promise and commitment, and included the confidence tick logo on its new fundraising campaign materials.
