Martin-Brooks tees off for charity golf
The good sports at Sheffield roofing specialists, Martin-Brooks, are putting the finishing touches to their sixth annual charity golf day, taking place next week.
Colleagues from across the construction industry will be swapping hammers for clubs to help Martin-Brooks raise money for a number of local good causes.
Held at Renishaw Park Golf Club, near Sheffield, on September 25, Martin-Brooks’ charity challenge will comprise an 18 hole Stableford competition, with prizes for the top individual and team of four, plus a two course post-round meal.
So far, 17 teams are expected to take part, with money raised from the event helping Martin-Brooks reach its £25,000 target.
Dale Wright, Martin-Brooks’ contracts director and organiser of annual fundraiser, said: “Our golf day is eagerly anticipated by colleagues, professional partners and friends of the firm and we are very grateful for their continued support. Interest in the event grows year on year and we now have more participants than ever. With professional pride at stake, there’s no doubt the competition will be fierce!”
Martin-Brooks is well on the way to achieving its £25,000 target with almost £18,000 raised so far. The money is being donated to a variety of Sheffield organisations, including Amy’s Retreat, Catcliffe MS Therapy Centre, Cavendish Cancer Care, Sheffield Talking News, St Vincent’s Furniture Scheme, The Rowan School, Norfolk Park Special School, Help for Heroes and Sheffield Institute Foundation’s motor neurone research centre.
Entry into the competition is £55 per head or £220 per four ball team. For more information about Martin-Brooks’ golf day or its range of domestic and commercial roofing services, telephone (0114) 244 7720 or visit www.martin-brooks.co.uk
