Bluebay Building Products creates Warrington jobs with new depot
A supplier for the construction industry has expanded its North West presence and created new jobs with the launch of a Warrington depot.
Bluebay Building Products, which is headquartered in Cardiff, has used funding from NatWest to establish a fifth depot on New Cut Lane in the Woolston area and create seven jobs.
The firm’s managing director, Nigel Howell, said: “We opened a depot in Gateshead in 2008 and growing economic activity, particularly in the North West, has meant we’ve felt it necessary to invest in this new depot.
“It will ensure that we can distribute products on a next-day delivery basis to Manchester, Liverpool and Sheffield as well as surrounding areas.”
He added: “I think we are seeing this upturn because of a combination of government initiatives such as big infrastructure projects in Manchester and Merseyside and a general improvement over the last couple of years in conditions in the civil engineering market.”
In addition to its Cardiff HQ and Warrington depot, Bluebay, which currently employs 59 people, operates branches in Gateshead, Swindon and Luton. Over the next 18 months, the firm hopes to increase its Warrington team to 11.
Working with NatWest relationship director Adrian Coles, Bluebay borrowed more than £280k to help with the launch of the new depot.
Adrian commented: “NatWest has a long-standing relationship with Bluebay and we’re delighted to be able once again to help the management team achieve their ambitions and continue to expand.
“It’s great to see the company creating jobs, achieving sustainable growth and delivering increased shareholder value.”
