Deloitte Newcastle adds 15 new faces in talent development intake
The Newcastle arm of business advisory firm Deloitte has announced the intake of 15 graduates and school leavers, as part of its talent development programme.
The young recruits are made up of 13 graduates and two school leavers, who have joined the firm as part of Deloitte’s BrightStart scheme, a five-year training and development plan specifically for A-level students.
The talent development programme is designed to help Deloitte identify and develop the business world’s future leaders.
Stephen Hall, senior partner at Deloitte in the North East, said: “The recruitment of these young people to our training schemes reflects not only our continued growth in the region, but our commitment to developing the next generation of business professionals.
“It is a significant investment in time and resources by Deloitte, but it is an essential part of ensuring the firm’s future success in the North East.
“There is huge competition for places on our graduate programme, and we only want the very best candidates. That’s why each of those who made it through had to pass a rigorous five-stage interview process.”
Deloitte, which employs 200 staff in the North East, also launched Deloitte Access last year, a skills and education programme run in conjunction with Teach First that helps young people from disadvantaged backgrounds access professional employment opportunities.
In the North East the firm is working with Cardinal Hume Catholic School in Gateshead to provide tailored support and mentoring to help students develop a broad range of workplace skills.
