Family Business Awarded Which? Trusted Trader Accolade
A FAMILY run Window Company has become the first of its kind in Bristol to be awarded the Which? Trusted Trader accolade.
Consumer champion Which? boast more than 50 years’ experience protecting consumer rights, conducting product reviews and offering independent advice.
The Which? Trusted Traders scheme captures this spirit to give consumers the same reassurance when choosing a trader.
Associated Windows and Conservatories, in Gloucester Road North, Filton, can now proudly call themselves a Which? Trusted Trader having passed a rigorous assessment.
The endorsement process involves a visit by a professional Which? Trusted Traders assessor, company credit check and random customer references.
Associated Windows and Conservatories, is a family run company, operated by Father and Son Bill MacDonald and Robert MacDonald, 29.
Bill started out in the industry over 37-years ago as a carpenter and joiner before moving into sales and eventually the bold leap into with his son Robert after having a main trade as an electrician through an apprenticeship with Baileys Electrical.
Since his appointment as Director, Bill says Robert’s entrepreneurial spirit has helped rapidly grow the business to around 450 annual customers.
Bill, aged 53, said: “The Which? Trusted Traders scheme recognises reputable and trustworthy traders to ensure consumers can have confidence when using a particular firm.
“We strive to be the best and becoming the first UPVC and aluminium window and conservatory firm in Bristol to achieve this standard is a real feather in our cap.
“We feel extremely proud to gain such a prestigious award and I can honestly say it is down to the young drive of Robert, my knowledge and the experience of the entire team who help move the business forward.
“This new accolade should give both our past and present customers’ piece of mind that we are a company of good standing.”
Associated Windows and Conservatories has grown significantly over the last three years and now employ 25 staff, who form part of the installations team.
In addition it has also appointed its own electrician, bricklayer and plasterer and it is currently redeveloping its Filton base to become an interactive showroom featuring the latest innovative working models.
Bill added: “Between the team we have over 500 years of experience and I hope that our company continues to grow and stay in the family.
“I have eight grandchildren and hope one day they will share our passion and keep the business going for many generations.”
Stephen McCluskey, Managing Director of Which? Trusted Traders, said: “We are delighted to announce Associated Windows and Conservatories as a Which? Trusted trader.
“Our Which? Trusted Traders service gives consumers the confidence to make the right choices when it comes to finding skilled professionals and we’re pleased to be able to give traders the chance to distinguish themselves from their peers.
“This scheme is a valuable, free resource for consumers and will help banish the risk of bodge jobs.”
