Learn how to survive in the wild
Following the resounding success of the Sailing Taster Days hosted in the summer, the Anderton Centre is running a “Bush Craft Day” on Sunday 4th October at their centre in Rivington, where people will be taught survival skills to live in the wild.
People will have the opportunity to learn how to build and light a fire and then cook a simple bread mix over the fire, build dens and shelters and generally have lots of fun in the beautiful woods with stunning views of Rivington Pike.
The event is ideal for active and adventurous individuals and families, and is suitable for anyone from 6 years old upwards.
Keith Gillies, Chairman of the Anderton Centre commented, “This really is a fabulous opportunity for youngsters and adults alike. Our highly skilled and qualified outdoor instructors will show people what great fun it is to learn these simple, yet useful skills.”
Keith continued, “We’re incredibly lucky to be able to offer such diverse activities with the facilities we have here at our centre. People taking part in this event will feel like they’re in the middle of nowhere, yet they’ll be within 40 minutes of Manchester, Preston, Bolton, Cheshire and many other major conurbations. The accessibility of our centre along with the stunning setting are major advantages of our centre.”
