PolyPhotonix joins the Fight for Sight
Partnership developed with eye research charity
Pioneering health technology firm, PolyPhotonix, has pledged to give a share of its sales revenues from its Noctura 400 Sleep Mask to Fight for Sight, the UK’s main eye research charity that funds pioneering research to prevent sight loss and treat eye disease.
PolyPhotonix has developed the Noctura 400 Sleep Mask, an innovative mask which is designed as a treatment for diabetic retinopathy, which can cause blindness. Patients wear the mask at night as they would any other sleep mask and it emits a gentle green glow.
Based in NETPark, Sedgefield, County Durham, PolyPhotonix will be handing the charity 5% of all revenues from private UK sales of the Noctura 400. The announcement comes during National Eye Health Week.
PolyPhotonix CEO Richard Kirk said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be working in partnership with Fight for Sight. We’ve been working on the Noctura 400 behind the scenes and now we’re growing rapidly as a business we wanted to share some of our success with a very deserving and very relevant charity.
“The collaboration with Fight for Sight is an ideal partnership as we’re united in our aim of developing treatments for eye disease. We’ll be giving 5% of revenues from private sales of our sleep mask, meaning the funds will be supporting vital eye research.”
In addition, PolyPhotonix will be organising events and encouraging individual fundraising efforts to help Fight for Sight fund vital research.
Michele Acton, Fight for Sight’s Chief Executive said of the two year partnership: “Thank you to PolyPhotonix for making Fight for Sight their charity partner. We’re excited to be working with such a pioneering company that like us, wants to create a future everyone can see.”
PolyPhotonix was founded by CEO Richard Kirk in 2009 to use OLED technology in cutting-edge health applications. The firm is a small enterprise but is growing rapidly with Fight for Sight due to benefit from the expected increase in sales over the next two years.
