The transformation of Denison House in Doncaster.

Doncaster railway heritage building on track for luxury transformation

The Grade II-listed building Denison House, in Doncaster, is being transformed into a group of luxury homes.

The historic building, which was most recently occupied by the Council, will be home to 11 state-of-the-art apartments, which are being refurbished by Yorkshire Investment Property.

In the 19th century, the 10,000 sq ft Denison House was used as the carriageworks for the London to York railway line by Edmund Denison, the MP credited with bringing the railway to Doncaster, and who went on to become chairman of Great Northern Railway.

As well as purchasing the building, Yorkshire Investment Property has secured planning permission for the luxury apartments, which will have a car park to the rear and outlooks over Regent Square.

Langleys Solicitors in Lincoln worked closely with the team at Yorkshire Investment Property on the purchase of the building. The Doncaster-based business has so far purchased 33 properties this year, averaging around one each week.

Yorkshire Investment Property operates in three keys areas of property development; converting residential properties into luxury affordable HMOs (houses in multiple occupation), converting commercial properties into residential accommodation, and providing holiday and corporate lets via different websites.

Sarah Miles, partner at Langleys Solicitors, said: “We are proud to be supporting Yorkshire Investment Property as they embark on their latest venture at Denison House.”

Paul Smith of Yorkshire Investment Property added: “Although it has stood empty in recent years, Denison House is a wonderful building with a fascinating history. It will make an incredible conversion into luxury apartments, with plenty of character and period features.

“Langleys Solicitors are a strategic partner, and we are pleased to have their support and expertise as we continue our programme of purchasing and converting properties.”
