Yorkshire cricket captain to bowl out growth boost for Glenbrae knitwear
The captain of 2014 and 2015 County Cricket Champions Yorkshire, Andrew Gale, has become a new brand ambassador for Glenbrae knitwear.
The endorsement is part of a growth strategy to promote the brand in new markets, broaden appeal and boost sales.
The role, which runs for two years, provides another top quality sporting ambassador, outside of the brand’s heritage golf market, where historically Glenbrae has been marketed exclusively at the golf wear sector and has enjoyed considerable success, including official endorsements from former Ryder Cup Captains Sam Torrance and Mark James.
Andrew Jones, general manager of Glenbrae, said: “Glenbrae stands for quality and style, and we’re delighted to be associated with such a prominent and well-respected sporting figure. Cricket is in the fabric of Yorkshire life, and therefore to bring these well-known Yorkshire traditions together, has been a really special thing for us.
“We like to be judged by the company we keep, and this association will lend extra gravitas to the Glenbrae brand.”
Andrew Gale added: “It’s fantastic to be associated with such a quality brand and especially one from an industry that has so much heritage in this county. I know that Glenbrae has a well-earned reputation in other sports and I look forward to helping promote the brand in the world of Cricket, and beyond.”
Glenbrae’s hand finished knitwear is marketed at sporting and corporate customers.
