Horse owners tip Hannah as favourite for award
North Lancashire horse care specialist Hannah Wild is riding high after horse lovers voted her to victory in a major national pharmaceutical award.
Hannah, who lives in Cockerham near Lancaster, will be presented with the winner’s trophy during a special ceremony at October’s Horse of the Year show.
She will attend the Birmingham event as the VIP guest of international animal health group Vibrac which sponsors the Equine SQP of the Year Awards.
Hannah will receive around £2,000-worth of prizes on behalf of her company Supplement Solutions which provides advice and nutritional products to treat various ailments.
Based in Great Eccleston and stocking over 5000 horse care supplements, the firm employs five people and was established by Hannah just over ten years ago.
Her award is open to all professionals holding the Equine SQP qualification which allows them to prescribe certain animal medicines.
The exams are set by AMTRA, the official animal medicines training regulatory authority.
Earlier this year, Hannah emerged as one of the short-listed six for the award after horse owners across the UK were invited to put forward nominations.
They were asked to vote for who, in their experience, demonstrated the best levels of skills and expertise when seeking advice about problems such as worming.
The final six were then subject to a “mystery shopper” test to further establish their credentials for giving the proper guidance on how to deal with certain equine ailments.
Hannah, herself a keen rider and teacher, emerged as the 2015 front runner – and said she was absolutely delighted to have taken the top spot:
“Although we are an internet company providing products on-line, we also offer free one-to-one advice to customers with any horse health queries,” said Hannah.
“I and virtually all of my staff are educated to degree level in equine sciences, and employees are also encouraged to study for further qualifications such as the E-SQP.
“In fact one of our team members last year gained the highest marks in Britain in the professional E-SQP exams, and received a special trophy for her achievement.
“This latest award, though, is very special as it’s based on what horse owners themselves think about the quality of advice they receive from Supplement Solutions.
“We were thrilled with the news of our success, and my husband Henry and I are really looking forward to our VIP experience at the Horse of the Year Show!” she added.
Hannah’s prizes also include a smart new set of corporate clothing for her staff team.
Earlier this year, Supplement Solutions beat hundreds of other firms to take the title of Britain’s top specialist internet retailer in the annual British Equestrian Trade Association Business Awards.
