Leeds-based home tech firm wins lighting contract with Roomzzz Aparthotels

Finite Solutions, the Leeds-based home automation specialist, has secured a contract to install smart lighting and state-of-the-art music systems at new Roomzzz Aparthotels under development in York and Harrogate.

This contract follows the successful installations at Roomzzz premises in Chester and Nottingham where Finite completed light and sound solutions to the reception, lobby and exterior of each aparthotel.

Founded in 2006, Roomzzz offers luxurious and affordable accommodation based on the apartment rental concept. The expanding brand currently has seven aparthotels – three in Leeds and one each in Manchester, Newcastle, Liverpool and Chester.

Future openings include York, Harrogate and a further site in Manchester.

Finite Solutions has designed a system for Roomzzz using Control4 technology that allows fully automated selection of lighting scenes which change to suit the time of day, both inside and out, to provide the most appropriate lighting mood for morning, noon and night.

In addition, the Control4 system also provides fully automated control over music in the reception and lobby area, playing pre-set music playlists through discreet ceiling speakers, changing with the lights to suit the time of day.

Simon Mathieson, director at Finite Solutions, said: “We are delighted to secure further contracts with Roomzzz which is an excellent concept known for its modern and slick styling. Our light and sound solutions are very effective and discreetly placed to highlight key interior features and architectural style of the building exteriors. We have used super energy efficient LED fittings that typically use around 80% less electricity than conventional halogen lights, saving considerable cost to Roomzzz in the long term.”

Parklane Group, Roomzzz’s parent company, has also appointed Finite Solutions to install the same system, as well as a state-of-the-art cinema room at IconInc, its luxury student accommodation scheme under development in Leeds. Finite Solutions will also install the same solution for the new Glassworks, luxury student scheme planned for 2017 by Parklane.

Finite Solutions has achieved 12 major awards from the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) for its national and international work.

Established in Leeds 12 years ago, Finite now operates nationally with offices also in Manchester and London and employs 30 people. This year it reported a 40% increase in turnover to £2.7m and is on target to increase this to £3.5m in the current financial year.
