Blackpool Expo drives business to Lancashire
ENTREPRENEURS came together at a free business expo in Blackpool to network and learn new skills.
Nichola Howard, of Launch Events North West, set up Blackpool Expo, on Friday, September 25, to bring hundreds of organisations together to help them thrive in Lancashire.
The mum-of-two said: “It was a really great day, seeing so many businesses networking and entrepreneurs taking part in the free seminars. They walked away from the day with new business skills and connections, which is what my aim was. I can’t wait for the next Blackpool Expo in March and I would like to thank all the visitors and exhibitors for making this one such a fab day.”
The event at The Village in Blackpool included exhibits from Lancashire Wine School, Attain digital marketing, Blackpool Unlimited, Blackpool MS Society and Companies House.
Colin Burbidge, owner of Lancashire Wine School, said: “I really enjoyed giving people my knowledge on wine with tasting on the day and found networking with other businesses really useful. I hope now visitors will want to come along to one of the wine school sessions where they can gain more knowledge.”
As well as the exhibits, there were free seminars on the day that gave advice on areas such as access to funding, increasing sales and raising your business profile.
The first seminar of the day was a media masterclass from journalist Kirsty Day and trainer Grace Dyke from Yellow Jigsaw, a PR and media training Community Interest Company (CIC).
Kirsty said: “To be able to be a part of an event which celebrates the best in business that the town has to offer was great. I really enjoyed giving the attendees the insider knowledge of getting seen and heard by customers.”
The next Blackpool Expo will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016, and will be focusing on “unzipping your digital potential”. For more information on how to visit or exhibit contact Nichola by logging on to www.launcheventsnw.co.uk or email hello@launcheventsnw.co.uk or call 07763 633 749.
