Northern Trust secures largest Merseyside property sale of 2015
Asset and wealth management firm Northern Trust has sold a 22,900 sq ft office building in Wavertree Technology Park, Liverpool, to the Lydiate Learning Trust network of North West schools and academies.
The sale of the firm’s Vortex House building, which represents the largest property purchase in Merseyside so far this year, will see the site used by Lydiate Learning Trust as a studio school. Opening later this month, the facility will offer business and technology courses, as well as classes in accountancy, textiles and engineering.
Andrew Byrne, a senior surveyor at the Liverpool office of commercial real estate firm CBRE, said: “We are delighted to act on behalf of Northern Trust Company Ltd in the sale of Vortex House which represents the largest sale within Merseyside this year.
“The property is situated in a prime position on Wavertree Technology Park, close to Liverpool City Centre and with easy access to the M62 and as such will be an excellent base for the new studio school.”
Vortex Court, the portion of the park in which Vortex House is located, is now close to fully let, with just 9,200 sq ft on the ground floor of the Building 2000 property remaining.
