Lancashire storage company Store First on track for record performance
Self-storage firm Store First has revealed that 2015 looks set to be its best year to date after celebrating becoming the biggest privately owned storage chain in the UK.
Headquartered in Padiham, Lancashire, the firm believes it is now the largest privately owned storage company in the UK in terms of lettable space, which hit 1,411,463 sq ft this year.
Store First plans to increase that figure to around 1,500,000 sq ft with a new facility in St Helens, which will bring its portfolio of centres to 14.
The company’s operations director, Oliver Kitson, said: “It’s been another phenomenal year for Store First as we continue to introduce our refreshing approach to self-storage to more and more parts of the UK.”
A Store First branch is currently under construction in London and due to open in early 2016.
Toby Whittaker, the MD of Group First, Store First’s parent company, commented: “Nobody else is doing what we’re doing in the industry and that’s our recipe for success.
“There’s huge demand to expand into London because of the great foundations we’ve established by becoming the UK’s largest privately owned storage provider. We’re excited to take it to the next level by bringing Store First to the capital.”
