Two bed homes are a winning choice
Demand for two bedroom properties are on the increase with a whopping 92 per cent of first time buyers across Yorkshire opting for a house rather than a flat, according to new research.
The recent findings coincide with Persimmon Homes West Yorkshire’s launch of its two bedroom homes at its Hedgerows development in Rotherham, which is generating a steady stream of interest.
Simon Whalley, sales director at Persimmon Homes West Yorkshire, believes the Government-backed Help to Buy scheme is making getting on the property ladder more affordable
He said: “This is our first release of two bedroom homes at the Hedgerows and we are finding customers are amazed at how much they can get for their money.
The research, by Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank, also revealed that of those first time buyers opting for houses, nationally 32 per cent of buyers were looking for two bedroom properties, an increase of 10 per cent from the previous year.
Simon added: “The Moulton’ two-bedroom terraced home includes a downstairs cloakroom, spacious lounge with French doors to the garden and a separate kitchen, making it a fantastic first home.
“Since the launch of the Governments’ Help to Buy scheme we have seen a number of young people take the plunge and purchasing their first home, many of who had feared they would never raise a big enough deposit to secure their home.
Persimmon Homes West Yorkshire is building 211 homes on the south east of Rotherham in Thurcroft. The Hedgerows offers excellent links to the M1 and M18 and is in easy reach to all the amenities and schools required for daily life.
Prices for two bedroom properties at the Hedgerows start at £109,950.
