Nuance and Samsung Extend Strategic Partnership

~~Nuance Communications and Samsung Electronics have announced an extension of their existing strategic partnership, which initially saw technology from Nuance powering the voice experiences across a variety of Samsung devices and consumer electronics. These include Samsung’s Smart TV and the S-Voice virtual assistant shipping across a range of Samsung’s Galaxy smartphones, tablets and smart watches. Now, the companies’ partnership extends to Samsung being granted the rights to sell and distribute Nuance AutoStore, Equitrac Office/Express and SafeCom family of document imaging solutions, with Nuance providing service and support to qualifying customers.

Explaining the benefits of the announcement in more detail, Michael Rich, the executive vice president and general manager of Nuance Document Imaging solutions stated: “Nuance and Samsung will work together over the next few years to deliver solutions that enable organisations to gain control of their print, capture and workflow environments.” To that, he added: “Together, we will push into new vertical markets, address security and compliance mandates, and embrace mobile workflows – all while providing enhanced service, support and training to our customers.”

Nuance’s solutions, available immediately to Samsung’s dealer network, include the following products. AutoStore which Nuance claims is best suited for business processes capture workflows where participants submit documents and data into a predefined workflow. AutoStore provides a unique experience designed with a responsive and intuitive interface for speed in capturing critical document information with as little interaction as possible using real-time connections to business systems for rapid and error free processing.

Also included is Equitrac® Office which gives businesses the flexibility to let users print what they need and when they need it, while reducing the costs and complexities of deploying a print infrastructure. Equitrac is claimed to be the most intelligent way to print – thanks to a reduction in costs, the assurance of secure printing and increased user satisfaction. With Hybrid Print Control™, Equitrac Office delivers organisational versatility and control, and reduces IT complexities by removing dependencies on print servers, print drivers and complex print fleets—all while managing every printed page in an organisation.

Meanwhile, Equitrac® Express gives IT administrators the flexibility to enable students, faculty and staff to print what they need and when they need it, wherever they are located. At the same time, it helps to reduce total print output and costs, accurately allocate print costs, implement print quotas, and enable guest printing through pay-for-print.

The final inclusion is Nuance SafeCom which offers companies a better way to manage and optimise their printing services. Nuance SafeCom Smart Printing™ solutions work with nearly all types of printers, copiers and multi-function devices.

David SW Song, Senior Vice President of Printing Solutions Business at Samsung Electronics, also commented on the announcement and stated: “Nuance’s products have established their reputation in the most challenging enterprise environments, and organisations of all sizes, demonstrating their value to Samsung, our partners and customers.
