Cygnet Law Enhances Services with Appointment of In-house Barrister
Cygnet Law has augmented its services with the appointment of an in-house barrister.
David Medd has joined Cygnet Law, which is based in Redcar and which specialises in family law and private client matters.
He studied for a Graduate Diploma in Law at Nottingham University and a Bar Vocational Course at the University of Northumbria at Newcastle.
Called to the Bar in 2010 and completing his pupillage in 2012, David Medd is a recipient of the Plowden Award for advocacy and an Inner Temple Award for Outstanding Student.
He is an expert in all areas of family law and has been regularly instructed by local authorities, parents, children and other interested parties in a wide range of public law proceedings including cases of a complex nature such as serious injuries to children. He also has forged a strong reputation for dealing with complex contact and residence cases.
Peter Medd, founder and director of Cygnet Law, said: “The appointment of an in-house barrister adds further depth and specialisation to the services we provide.
“Where necessary, we can get our counsel involved in cases at the earliest stages, which will enhance the speed and efficiency of the preparation of issues destined for higher courts. In addition, the recruitment of an in-house barrister will offer continuity of service for our clients.
“Cygnet Law is at the forefront of creating a business model that creates a one-stop-shop for our clients whether they need the support of a solicitor or a barrister.”
David Medd said: “Cygnet Law is a leading player in the sector with an excellent reputation and I am looking forward to helping such a go-ahead, focused firm, expand its services and grow its business.”
