Directors join growing Yorkshire tech business
One of the UK’s fastest-growing technology companies, based in West Yorkshire, is continuing with its period of expansion by recruiting two directors.
Following the appointment of its new chairman in June, Wetherby-based Oriium has now appointed a sales director and a financial director.
Katy Hogg has joined Oriium as the business’s new financial director having worked for major brands including PricewaterhouseCoopers and Wolseley. Katy, from Calverley in Leeds, has significant experience of mergers and acquisitions and will be responsible for managing Oriium’s finances as it continues to grow.
Steve Maltby, from Harrogate, has been appointed as director of sales. Steve, who joins the business from EMIS in Leeds, has many years’ sales experience with global corporations, government organisations and the NHS. Steve will be helping grow revenues and develop Oriium’s marketing operations.
In addition, the company is now recruiting a marketing team to assist with its development plans.
Oriium provides data management and infrastructure consultancy including managed and hosted services. For the last two years, the “Channel Only” company has been ranked as one of Deloitte UK’s top 50 fast-growing technology businesses and is seeking a hat-trick at the 2015 awards later this year.
Established in 2007 by Chris Kiaie, Oriium’s company ethos and business strategy has resulted in year-on-year growth.
The business currently employs a team of 35, initially launching with just two founding members of staff, and re-located to larger premises in Wetherby at the end of last year.
Ryan McCarry joined the business as chairman in June, buying a 15% stake to assist with its growth.
Chris Kiaie said: “We’ve spent many months working on recruiting the very best people. Katy and Steve join Oriium from large corporates and bring a wealth of experience with them. We are very proud that we are now attracting such a high calibre of staff and these roles are crucial as we push on with our continued growth this year.”
Katy Hogg said: “I was very excited by the opportunity at Oriium as the business is growing rapidly and has impressive credentials. This a great opportunity to take a relatively young company into an important development phase.”
Steve Maltby added: “I’ve watched Oriium grow over the last few years and I was very keen to take on the sales role as I can see a lot of potential. The new roles are a real chance to make a difference to the business and I am looking forward to the very many opportunities that we are already exploring with major, global partners.”
