Law firm Napthens to expand Cumbria presence with Kendal office

North West law firm Napthens is set to expand its Cumbria presence with a second office in the region.

In an effort to increase its market share in Cumbria, the Preston-headquartered company said it plans to establish a base in the Bridge Mills Business Centre in Kendal.

Napthens’ chief executive, John Whittingslow, said: “Our footprint in Cumbria has been growing steadily through our specialist rural team and on the back of that we have built strong, professional relationships which has led to an increase in demand for our services.

“We now act for many Cumbrian businesses in both the corporate and leisure sectors.”

He added: “Cumbria provides exciting growth opportunities for Napthens and we look forward to working with the business communities in the county and growing our presence in the region.”

The firm had a number of its departments ranked in the recent Legal 500 guide, including licensing, corporate and commercial, employment, rural and construction.

Speaking further, John said the economic strength of Cumbria lies in its rural, tourism and energy sectors. He continued: “We’ll be expanding the team in the coming months and adding the full range of legal services for individuals and businesses over time.

“The Kendal office will give us the perfect platform to build our market share as we become more integrated in the local market place.”

Napthens, which already has offices in Preston, Blackpool, Blackburn, Chorley and Penrith, will open its Kendal base this December.
