ANS Group's EBITDA rose by 20.8% to £5.8m

Manchester-based ANS Group reports 11th year of profit growth

A renewed focus on services with higher profit margins has allowed cloud provider ANS Group to achieve its eleventh consecutive year of profit growth.

From its base in Manchester Science Park, the firm reported a 22.1% year-on-year increase in its pre-tax profit, which hit £5.2m in the 12 months to March 31 2015. ANS Group posted a similar increase in its EBITDA, which rose by 20.8% to £5.8m during the period.

Meanwhile, the firm’s turnover remained constant at £47m, with ANS attributing the higher profits to a strategic focus on delivering managed services with higher margins.

The company’s CEO, Paul Sweeney, said of the results: “Our Fully Managed Infrastructure Service saw the biggest area of growth as the company continues to deliver world class standards of service management in this area.

“Further investment has been made to ensure that the data centre and network capacity is geared for growth and that all of our team are equipped to meet the high serviceability needs of our customers’ critical systems.”

ANS’ managed services remained one of the firm’s biggest growth areas, with gross profits jumping from £5.4m in March 2014 to £7.3m in 2015.

During the year, ANS was awarded a place on the Crown Commercial Services frameworks for IT Products and Services and the government’s G-Cloud framework, allowing it to tender for business from the public sector.

ANS’ chairman and founder, Scott Fletcher MBE, commented: “Looking ahead to 2016, we remain confident in the development and direction of our managed services and RAPID strategy.

“As organisations continue to focus on delivering business value IT, we must provide a visionary platform, which adopts innovative technologies allowing for scale and growth.”
