Academy kitted out thanks to Fairstone donation

Children at Hilton Primary Academy, in Blakelaw, Newcastle, are sporting a brand new Newcastle Falcons rugby kit thanks to a donation by the AVIVA Premiership club sponsors, Fairstone Financial Management.

The kit was donated by Fairstone to the school after the company’s CEO saw the school’s rugby team take part in a special half-time match at the last game of the 2014/15 season.

Hilton Academy educates over 400 children from some of the more deprived areas of Newcastle including Blakelaw, Slatyford and Cowgate. The school offers its youngsters learning experiences through a diverse, rich and creative curriculum, which includes team sports such as rugby.

The school’s rugby team is captained by Lea-Lorna Spence, aged 9. Passionate about the sport, she said: “The whole day at the Falcons was fantastic, made all the more special by the beautiful shirts given to us by Fairstone. It means that The Falcons, Fairstone and Hilton are always together. Every time I wear my shirt I will remember that great day.”

Charlie Walton, pictured, added: “The new shirts are fabulous.”

Lee Hartley, CEO of Fairstone Financial Management, one of the UK’s largest Chartered financial planning firms, based in Boldon, said: “It’s a pleasure to have been able to donate the rugby kit to the students of Hilton Academy. It was clear from seeing the children take part in the half-time match at Newcastle Falcons, that the team is passionate about the game of rugby, much the way we are as an organisation and official partner of the club. We were delighted to provide them with a brand new kit and we wish them the best of luck with their rugby as the new season approaches.”
