Maginus appoints ex-ORACLE lead to spearhead growth

Maginus, the UK’s leading provider of IT services for multichannel retailers and distributors, has recruited Will O’Brien to the role of Sales Director. As the former UK head of SAP Retail and the EMEA VP for Oracle Retail, O’Brien has been involved in numerous IT and business transformation projects for over a decade.

The appointment will enable Maginus to lead its current client base through the technological change as well driving new customer acquisition in the retail and distribution sectors that Maginus serves.

O’Brien commented: “Over the last decade I have had the opportunity to work with customers in all sectors of the market ranging from the largest companies to smaller privately owned entities. The successful delivery of modern retail and distribution solutions is transforming the way companies do business.

He continued: “I am looking forward to helping our clients through changes in the industry as they implement new digital operating models and realise the significant growth opportunities that exist. With 25 years of delivery experience I am confident Maginus has the track record and experience to help companies select technologies that are fit for purpose in the new digital economy.”

Maginus is acutely aware that mobile devices have transformed consumer behaviour and therefore business. To this end, the company has developed a suite of device agnostic tools focused on enterprise mobility, so that corporate back office systems are available to users wherever they are - from warehouses to stores. Maginus has a wealth of in-house retail and distribution experience and, thanks to its relationships with a range of leading technology providers, can support our customers as their businesses scale and grow through a partnership approach.

Simon Weeks, CEO at Maginus, said: “I’m delighted that Will has chosen to join Maginus at what is an extremely exciting time for the company. The industry has seen a range of changes driven by consumer demand and mobile devices, and Will’s experience will enable us to capitalise on opportunities that drive business growth and meet the needs of our existing customers.”
