Mortgage surge shows North West housing market strengthening

Now is a good time to buy, according to one local expert

Mortgage approvals for home buyers in the UK are improving, with one local mortgage expert suggesting now is a good time to buy.

Latest figures from the Bank of England show an 8.2% rise in the six months to August 2015. The number of loan approvals for house purchases was 71,030 in August, up from an average of 65,594 over the previous six months while approvals for re-mortgaging increased by 14.2%.

New homes mortgage specialist Andrew Mannion of RSC New Homes, says: “This report for August is brilliant news for first time buyers and brings a positive outlook to the rest of 2015. House purchase lending has been growing steadily month on month which indicates that housing market activity is on the up.”

RSC New Homes, based in Cheshire, specialise in new build mortgages and work closely with new home builders in the area.

Andrew also says now is a good time to consider using Help to Buy, with the market conditions perfect for the schemes.

He says: “It has never been a better time to think about Help to Buy, with interest rates on the scheme lower than they have ever been. Many people are surprised at how affordable the scheme is. We work closely with many of the developers in the area and look forward to assisting purchasers under the scheme.”
