ENER-G technology selected for London housing scheme

Salford-based green energy company ENER-G has been selected to supply its low carbon combined heat and power (CHP) technology for phase two of the Leopold Estate housing scheme in Tower Hamlets, London.

The CHP system will serve 516 new homes in the second phase of development by Poplar Housing Association. In the first phase, ENER-G supplied a smaller unit, which is providing high efficiency heat and power to existing residents.

Ian Hopkins, Group Sales Director of ENER-G Cogen International Ltd, said: “London is demonstrating strong leadership in decarbonising its energy supplies through increasing use of CHP with low emissions technology. We are proud to be playing our part in contributing to the capital’s green ambitions. Our technology has been used at Buckingham Palace for many years and across many other famous London buildings. This is one of a number of new projects we are supplying in the capital.”

ENER-G helped pioneer packaged CHP technology more than 30 years ago. It is a leading global supplier of CHP systems with its headquarters and main R&D and manufacturing facility based in the UK along with other major facilities in the US, Italy, Netherlands, Romania and Hungary.
