We’re on the ball! Local housebuilder announces sponsorship of Bedlington FC girls team

Barratt Homes North East has announced its sponsorship of Bedlington Town FC Hawks. As part of the sponsorship, the local housebuilder provided the junior girls team with £400 for a new team kit, ahead of the current season.

The Hawks - which is an all girls youth team based in Bedlington, South Northumberland - is made up of nine children, all under the age of 11, from across the local area. The team encourages youngsters in the local area to get involved in football and provides them with an opportunity to be a part of a team that develops their performance, skills and fitness in a safe and positive environment.

The club, which plays near Barratt Homes’ Lakeside View development in Killingworth, now boasts over 270 youngsters across various age groups, and is working towards achieving ‘Community Club Standard’ status, with the longer-term goal of providing great opportunities for both able-bodied and disabled young people in the area.
