West Midlands' R&D Tax Claims expands with new Warrington base

R&D Tax Claims, the West Midlands-based tax relief firm, has expanded in the North West with a new Cheshire base.

The firm’s managing director, Mark Evans, made the decision to establish a presence in Warrington after experiencing growth in the region and now hopes to attract clients as far north as Scotland.

Pamela Cunliffe, who will head up the new operation as R&D Tax Claims’ northern director, said: “This is a really exciting time to work with our existing and new customers given the strength of research and development occurring within manufacturing SMEs across the Northern Powerhouse.

“We have already made some strong connections and I am looking forward to expanding our business further.”

She added: “Being Cheshire born and bred I feel totally at home in Warrington and it is fantastic to be part of the vibrant business community here and across the North West.”

Since 2009, R&D Tax Claims’ MD has been involved in generating tax savings of around £20m. In the last five financial years, the firm said it has secured savings of £374k for Stockport-based manufacturer Mini Gears Ltd, which allowed the firm to broaden its product range by acquiring new machinery.

Mini Gears’ joint managing director, Keith Martin, commented: “Don’t assume that what you do won’t qualify as R&D.

“Meeting with R&D Tax Claims gave us the opportunity to review our projects and discuss our potential.”
