Just Housing Appoints New CEO

Leading social housing support provider - Just Housing Group - has announced the appointment of John Swinney to the role of Chief Executive Officer as part of the business’ continued efforts to drive growth.

John steps up to the role having previously acted as a Non-Executive Director to the organisation.

As former CEO of Pinnacle PSG and most recently holding senior management positions at Eaga and Carillion, John brings with him extensive industry knowledge and over 30 years’ experience in the social housing sector.

He has also spent the 12 months developing an innovative green bond proposition designed to help local authorities and social housing providers respond to current financial and service pressures by offering a new generation of funding for green retrofit and new housing. As part of his role with Just Housing John will continue to drive the bond forward working to develop a pipeline of work with local authorities that will release the first £200million tranche of bond funding.

Commenting on his appointment John said: “I am extremely passionate about the social housing sector and in more than 30 years that enthusiasm has never waned. I am very much looking forward to driving and sustaining business growth for Just Housing across the sectors we operate together with opening up new funding opportunities through the green bond initiative that will enable councils and social housing providers to fund their housing programmes.

“The company has built an excellent reputation in the 11 years since it was founded and continues to play a key role in supporting councils and housing associations.

“The social housing sector has faced several challenges over the last few years and Just Housing has been extremely reactive to these. We will continue to place a strong focus on improving operations, driving cost efficiencies and enhancing the way services are delivered to residents.”

John is well respected in the social housing sector and is seen as an expert in the field. He has a proven track record in building businesses and managing organisational change.

Having said that, Just Housing has grown from strength to strength year on year and with John’s wealth of experience we are confident the business will accelerate even further in the next 12 months.”

Strengthening its senior team even further, Just Housing has also promoted Amala Corera to Director of Finance. Amala has been with the business since its inception and the appointment recognises her significant contribution to the organisation’s growth.

Established in 2004, Just Housing provides services and support in the supply, management and maintenance of social housing. The organisation successfully leads in transforming and creating Direct Labour Organisations (DLO) and with offices in London the company employs 25 staff.
