1879 Events Management Turns Back The Clock
SUNDERLAND’S LEADING events’ management company is going to make a pig’s ear of its next catering contract – all in the name of authenticity.
On Friday October 30 Sunderland Minster will be hosting its first-ever medieval banquet, heavily influenced by the TV show Game of Thrones.
Providing the food on the night is the city’s 1879 Events Management, who have created a real medieval feast for guests, along with providing some table dressing including a pig’s head.
Attendees will enjoy a ham hock broth for starters, followed by a shin of beef platter with roasted vegetables with a dessert of stuffed baked apples and cream.
The banquet, which has been organised by the Rotary Club of Seaburn Satellite Club will also include a programme packed full of entertainment.
“We’re delighted to have had the opportunity to be really creative and come up with an authentic menu for what is going to be a fantastic event,” said Michael Laidler, Key Account Executive at 1879 Events Management.
“We’ve worked closely with the organisers and we believe that the food will complement the evening perfectly.”
Tickets for the event are £55 each and available via the website at www.rotarysr1.co.uk or at the Bridges Customer Service desk. Tables of ten are available at the discounted price of £500. Further information is available by contacting Andy Bradley on 0191 515 4880.
Gemma Dishman, chair of the satellite club, said she hopes people across the city would support the event.
“There’s been a lot of interest which is not surprising as this is a first for Sunderland,” she said.
“We would urge people to get their tickets very quickly so they aren’t disappointed.”
