Roxy Ball Room to open in Liverpool ONE
Roxy Ball Room, the Leeds-based food and drinks venue with a ping pong and pool twist, is set to expand with the opening of a new bar in Liverpool ONE.
The upcoming Roxy Ball Room in Liverpool will occupy 6,929 sq ft near Hanover Street on the top floor of 26 College Lane, above the recently announced Reds True BBQ and Wahaca restaurants.
The bar, which is operated by Leeds-headquartered Jones Bar Group, will include a VIP room for private hire with space for 60 people
Miles Dunnett, the director of portfolio management at Grosvenor Fund Management, which runs Liverpool ONE, said: “Roxy Ball Room is a great complement to the Liverpool ONE leisure offer, aligning perfectly with our ambition to continually provide something new for visitors.
“As an independent operator, Roxy Ball Room also adds to the eclectic nature of Liverpool ONE. The brand is about having fun; it creates an additional reason to visit, or to extend a trip, and highlights the breadth of Liverpool ONE’s appeal.”
He added: “We are very excited with Jones Bar Group’s plans for how they will use this standout space to deliver an engaging, social, experience.”
Jones Bar Group will begin fitting out Roxy Ball Room this month and expects to have it open before Christmas.
The group’s managing director, Matthew Jones, commented: “Liverpool ONE has a great reputation in the region, leading a resurgence in leisure in the city.
“We have been tracking its momentum for some time, so when the Hanover Street opportunity was presented to us it was too good to miss.”
Matthew continued: “We have a great space in a fantastic location that benefits not only from the appeal of Liverpool ONE, but the vibrancy of the Rope Walks.”
Founded two years ago, Roxy Ball Room offers customers a mix of cocktails, beer and bar snacks, with a kitchen serving homemade burgers and pizzas.
Data has shown that catering sales in Liverpool ONE’s cafes and restaurants are up year-on-year by 12.5%
During the deal to sign Roxy Ball Room, real estate advisory firm Cushman & Wakefield represented Liverpool ONE, while Creative Leisure acted for Roxy Ball Room.
