Treske praised for "superb" furniture at Hampshire wedding venue

Treske, the leading North Yorkshire manufacturer of bespoke furniture, kitchens and church furnishings, has designed and supplied more than 100 bespoke chairs and tables for a leading Hampshire tearooms and wedding venue.

The award-winning company, based in Thirsk, has now installed the furniture at Houghton Lodge, near Winchester, on the banks of the River Test.

Russell Clynch, commercial director of Treske, said: “This was a very rewarding project for us, given the quality of the refurbishment at Houghton Lodge and the excellent reputation of the venue. We are also very proud to be a Yorkshire company representing our region in the south of England.

“We supplied 80 chairs and 35 tables. The chairs were solid beech in special tinted walnut and matt lacquer finish and the tables were in oiled steel and solid ash to match the chairs. They look superb now they have been installed,” he explained.

Sophie Busk, who runs Houghton Lodge, explained: “We are both a teahouse and a wedding venue and, when we were undergoing a refurbishment, Treske were the only company I found who were able to manufacture a traditional chair that could stack in a style that I liked.

“Treske also make bespoke tables to match a colour that I had chosen, but could not buy off the shelf. I felt the products were strong and durable and Treske’s staff were very helpful.

“I needed to furnish our Orangery and teahouse with 80 traditional styled, stacking chairs in a dark wood, and 35 bespoke tables that looked rustic and not shiny and modern. I had a photo of wood that I wanted copied and I am very pleased with the result.

“We have had many comments on how beautiful the Orangery and teahouse look with the Treske tables and chairs. The chairs are comfortable and the tables are beautiful and easy to clean. They are also unique in that I was able to choose the finish I wanted,” added Sophie.
