US investors consider Everton takeover
American investors with links to the Missouri-based Major League Soccer club Sporting Kansas City are believed to be in talks to purchase Everton FC.
Rumours are circulating that the current owners of the Blues have set an asking price of £225m, the BBC has reported.
Mike Illig, a representative of the Kansas team, has previously said he is a fan of the Merseyside club.
Speculation over takeover discussions increased yesterday when Mr Illig posted images of himself at Goodison Park on Twitter. Similarly, Sporting Kansas City CEO Robb Heineman retweeted an image of the Everton grounds.
According to the BBC, EFC chairman Bill Kenwright has previously confirmed that he would consider a takeover if the right offer was made.
